Project description
With a capacity of 972 MW, Khorramshahr Combined Cycle Power Plant is located in Arvand free zone in an area of 130 hectares. Its construction was started in 2007. In line with the development of the areas directly involved in Iran-Iraq war and job creation in the deprived areas in southern Iran, the first gas unit of this project was added to the circle in 2008. The project consists of six V94.2 gas units each with a nominal capacity of 162 MW and three stream units each with a nominal capacity of 160 MW. Phases I and II of the project including 6 gas units have already been added to the grid and the contract for the EPC (Phase III) has been signed for conversion of the gas units to combined cycle.
