Project Description
In line with the development of war-affected regions and creating employment in the underprivileged southern areas of the country, the 972 MW Khorramshahr Combined Cycle Power Plant was defined within the Arvand Free Zone on a 130-hectare site, with construction commencing in 2007. The first phase consisted of 4 V94.2(5) gas units, and the second phase included 2 V94.2(5) gas units, each with a nominal capacity of 162 MW; the first unit was commissioned in 2008. Currently, both phases, comprising 6 gas units, are fully operational, while the third phase focuses on converting these gas units into a combined cycle system. Furthermore, in 2022, a Media power augmentation system with a total capacity of approximately 100 MW was installed across all gas units to be utilized during the warmer months of the year.
